Crookston Chamber Sugarbeet Scramble a Success

The Crookston Chamber Ag Committee Sugarbeet Golf Scramble was a success July 9 with close to 100 golfers and 20 teams. Our winning team was Christian Brothers Ford after having to break a tie three times with Bremer Bank’s Team Ryan Palm. Third place ended up in a four-way tie between Crookston United Insurance, Valley Plains Equipment, Crystal Beet Seed, and Northern Sky Bank.
Lunch was provided by Crookston Valley Co-op plus there was a steak and potato dinner for all after golfing.  “I would like to thank Minakwa Golf Course for the use of their great facilities and making two great meals. Everything just runs so smooth holding these scrambles there. Tina and her crew worked hard, and it was very much appreciated,” said Terri Heggie, Crookston Chamber Executive Director.  “I would also like to thank our prize sponsors: A&L Auto Body, Brost Chevrolet, Christian Brothers Ford, Crookston Collision, Kustom Kollision, Crookston Valley Co-op, and the Golf Center in Grand Forks. Also, a shout-out to our event sponsors: A&L Auto Body, AgCountry, American Federal Bank, Best Used Trucks, Bremer Bank, Brost Chevrolet, Christian Brothers Ford, CHS Ag Services, Crookston Welding/NAPA, Crookston Collision Center, Dan’s Flying Service, Fitzgerald Reynolds Harbott Knutson & Larson PLLP, Kelly’s Chrysler Center, Kustom Kollision, Phil Thompson & Associates, Thrivent Financial, Gasper AirSpray, and Crookston Valley Co-op.”
The golf tournament was a success of the sponsors, but also all the hard-working people on the chamber staff and Ag Committee. “This was my first golf scramble as Chamber Director and the Ag Committee members helped me along, and they really made sure things ran smoothly,” said Heggie. “So, a thank you to Erik Griffin, Garret Kollin, Curtis Funk, Kyle Page, Ryan Palm, Nick Noah, and Travis Pederson. Also, a big thank you to our new office members at the Chamber & CVB – Kristi and Jess and Bremer Bank’s Missy Ricord and Kenzie Sirjord for running the putting game on the course.”
A portion of the Golf Scramble proceeds went towards a UMC scholarship for a student entering the agriculture field.
