CROOKSTON WAYS AND MEANS COMMITTEE MEET AND REVIEW CITY ADMINISTRATOR SEARCH

The Crookston Ways and Means Committee met on Monday night in the City Hall council chambers following the City Council meeting, which held further discussion regarding the City Administrator Search.

City Administrator Corky Reynolds believes the search for a new administrator has been a smooth process thus far. “This began some months ago when the council asked if I would solicit potential firms,” said Reynolds, “To search for someone to be my replacement as City Administrator. The council has selected Baker Tilly to conduct the search to be that firm to search for the replacement.”

Reynolds has worked with Baker Tilly and developed guidelines, and the council has since received questionnaires regarding characteristics and the qualities needed to serve as the Crookston City Administrator. It was determined at the meeting that Baker Tilly would conduct in-person interviews with each city council member, Mayor Dale Stainbrook, and Corky Reynolds. The applicants can also interview via video chat with Zoom or Skype.

“Once all of the interviews are completed, and the questionnaires are completed, then Baker Tilly’s representative will construct a profile,” said Reynolds, “This will run through February and release nationwide and seek a replacement for me as City Administrator.”

The following steps in the hiring process from Baker Tilly will include analysis regarding the applicants and receiving letters of interest from each applicant. The council is searching for ten to twelve potential candidates by April 2024.

The council is projecting the annual salary for a City Administrator to be in the amount of $125,000 to $150,000.
