JUNE SHAVER ESTATE GIFTS OVER $100,000 TO CROOKSTON SCHOOL DISTRICT AND LOCAL ENTITIES

The June Shaver Estate announced the 2024 gifts and donations to the Crookston High School and other organizations within Crookston. June Shaver has continued to make a significant impact on the Crookston community since her passing in 2014. June has donated $783,532 over the last eight years. On Monday at the Crookston High School commons, the June Shaver Estate announced its ninth year of gifts and donations distribution, which included another $100,500, bringing the grand total of donations to $884,032.

Before Shaver’s passing, she had invested millions of dollars and set up an estate to continue donating money to organizations that she felt were well-deserving entities that helped the community. Since then, the estate has donated in Shaver’s honor to these organizations that she had previously selected to receive these funds.

Annette Hegg, a close friend of June, was chosen as the trustee of the estate before Shaver’s passing and believed that this year’s donations would put a smile on June’s face. “June would be thrilled,” said Hegg, “This was June’s dream. I know she’s smiling down because anything that had to do with our youth, she would help them.”

Edward Jones representative Troy Lindberg presented the gifts and donations during the ceremony. Edward Jones is the entity that helps assist and manage the funds that June Shaver had set aside. Lindberg voiced a high opinion about not only Shaver but also the foundation. “I didn’t know June myself, so I’m gathering information from people like Annette,” said Lindberg. “This is just fun to be a part of because of recognizing how June cared so much about the community and these organizations. Taking the time to create this plan to help all these people is amazing. We’re glad to be part of it.”
