PIRATE GIRLS BASKETBALL FALLS ON THE ROAD TO BRECKENRIDGE 89-55

The Crookston Pirates Girls Basketball team fell to the Breckenridge Cowgirls at Breckenridge High School 89-55. 

FIRST HALF-
In the first half, Breckenridge got off to a fast start, but Madilyn Bruggeman got a basket underneath for Crookston to make it 12-4. Isabelle Smith hit a three to make it 12-7. Later, Emma Gunderson made an excellent cut to the basket and got a layup to fall to make it 20-9. Chloe Boll hit a jump shot from the elbow to make it 27-17. Brooklyn Waldal got a layup to go to make it 45-20 after Breckenridge went on a run. Naomi Johnson hit a three in the corner right before the first-half buzzer sounded to make it 49-23 at the half with Breckenridge leading. 

SECOND HALF –
At the beginning of the second half, Smith knocked down another three to open up the second half. Breckenridge answered with a three of their own before Smith hit a three again. Later in the half, Chloe Boll banked in a close-ranged shot to make it 55-33. Smith hit yet another three to make it 66-39 as Bruggeman got another basket down low. Katelyn Christensen drained a three for the Pirates to make it 70-46. Smith hit her fourth three of the half and fifth three of the game with just a few minutes left in the game. Breckenridge would pull away to get an 89-55 win. 

Crookston drops to 3-23 on the year as their regular season comes to a close. Breckenridge is 14-12 on the year with the victory, as their regular season is also over.
