The Crookston Ways & Means Committee met on Monday, June 10, in the Council Chambers in City Hall.
The committee heavily discussed how they would fill the empty seat amongst them due to former Councilman Joe Kresl’s resignation. Since Kresl’s resignation, the fifth ward council member position has opened. The committee ended up coming up with the following process to fill the position-
- Have applicants submit their applications to City Hall by June 28 at 5:00 p.m. For applications, submit in writing who you are, your street address, and if you will be willing to fill the vacant position from July 22 until December 31, 2024. The goal is to have the candidate run for reelection this year.
- The committee will interview candidates for the position on July 8.
- The committee will act on the decision to add a new council member on July 22.
