CROOKSTON LIONS TO HOLD FUNDRAISER FOR EMMITT SCOTT ON FRIDAY NIGHT

The Crookston Lions Club will hold a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for Emmitt Scott, a 13-year-old from Crookston. Emmitt is the son of Vanessa and Brent Scott, and Bryce Tiedemann of Euclid. Emmitt was diagnosed with a brain tumor in March. He has been hospitalized for several weeks and will have appointments, treatments, therapies, a lot of follow-up doctor appointments, and medications.

The fundraiser will be held Friday (July 26) from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Crookston Eagles Club with a free-will offering, with all the proceeds going to help with medical and travel expenses.

“It all started in March. They were out for dinner, and all of a sudden, he wasn’t feeling well, had numbness, and they went to the Emergency Room and had a CT scan and saw a large tumor on his pituitary gland and fluid build-up,” said Crookston LEO Club Director and Lions Club Member Linda Morgan. “They had to drain the fluid and was life-flighted to Sandford Pediatrics in Fargo and was put in ICU there. Emmitt had surgery two days later, on March 25. The surgery took seven hours and he was intubated for two days. He is making progress and has physical therapy and has also gone to Mayo Clinic in Rochester to start the radiation for five to six weeks.”

Morgan said they will have 50/50 drawings throughout the event with drawings every half hour. There will be a silent auction and raffle to help raise money. If you would like to donate an item for the silent auction or monetary donation and can’t make it to the dinner, contact Linda Morgan at 218-289-5006.
