Fatal One-vehicle Car Accident Reported near McIntosh

On Sunday, September 15 at 3:33 p.m. the Polk County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to single motor vehicle crash on Polk County Road 41 near 250th Avenue SE in King Township (Near McIntosh). When first responders arrived on scene, the vehicle was fully engulfed with fire.

The vehicle was traveling eastbound on Polk County Road 41 when it entered the ditch. The vehicle then rolled and caught fire. A single occupant was found in the vehicle deceased. The body was brought to the University of North Dakota Forensic Pathology for identification. 

Alcohol is suspected to be a factor.

The Minnesota State Patrol is handling the crash investigation.  Assisting agencies were the McIntosh Fire Department and Essentia Ambulance.  

No further information will be released at this time.
