Adelle Christianson isn’t one for the spotlight. She would much rather see her team at RiverView Health get the praise. However, the much-deserved spotlight fell on Adelle recently when she was surprised with the organization’s 2024 Employee of the Year honor.
Adelle is RiverView’s Operating Room/Same Day Surgery coordinator. She is known for always finding time to help others and fostering relationships to ensure a positive and supportive environment for team members and patients.
“What stands out most to those who work with you is your consistency in leading by example,’’ April Grunhovd, CNO, said during the surprise presentation to honor Adelle. “You don’t ask others to do something that you’re not willing to do yourself. You’re known for your flexibility, openness to feedback, and your ability to adapt in ways that benefit both the patients and the team.
“Your emotional intelligence is evident in how you collaborate effectively with providers, coworkers, patients, and their families. Your genuine smile and warm, positive attitude with which you engage with patients and colleagues alike fosters a deep sense of respect and caring. Thank you for your exceptional leadership, your ownership, communication, teamwork, and for consistently bringing your best self with you every day.’’
A Goodridge, MN, native, Adelle has been with RiverView’s surgery department for over nine years. She and her husband Tyler are raising their three boys, Jack, Gus, and Bjorn, in Mentor. Besides listing her boys as her biggest interest, Adelle enjoys gardening, lake activities in the summer, and skiing in the winter.
She said of her Employee of the Year recognition: “I am beyond honored to receive this award. The only reason I got this is because of my awesome coworkers. They’re like family, friends, they’re just the best staff to work with, doctors included. I am very surprised by this and very honored. I enjoy working here, and it’s so nice to get recognized like this for any hard work being done.’’
Adelle was chosen from an amazing group of Employee of the Month winners from Dec. 2023 through November 2024. As Employee of the Year, she received an award and a check for $1,000.
