The Northwest Regional Corrections Center reported the arrest of the following

John Farrel Beaver, 44, of East Grand Forks, for Trespassing

Heidi Jo Jackson, 34, of Bemidji, for 5th Degree Drug Possession

Nicole Dawn Brown, 49, of Crookston, for DUI

The Crookston Fire Department (CFD) responded to the following calls on 2/17/25:

At 8:00 a.m., CFD responded to the 1300 block of St. Mary’s Dr. for a smoke detector sounding. Crews investigated and found detectors in the home were at the end of their life. TCFD talked to the homeowner about replacement options and cleared the scene.

At 2:00 p.m., CFD responded to the Oak Court apartments for a fire alarm activation. A burnt food item triggered the alarm.

At 7:40 p.m., CFD responded to the Crookston Sports Center for an elevator alarm. Nobody was present at the Sports Center and elevator was working properly.
