Teagen Lubinski signs to play football at St. Scholastica

Crookston High School’s Teagen Lubinski signed a National Letter of Intent to play college football at St. Scholastica in Duluth on Wednesday morning at Crookston High School. Lubinski is undecided on a major but is leaning toward a degree in exercise physiology.

Lubinski was a quarterback for the Pirate football team and led the team in rushing and passing yards. He was also a captain and a leader in the weight room over his career.
Lubinski has been a three-sport athlete, competing in football, hockey, and baseball. He switched between football and hockey in college. “It took me a long time to decide, but I had a couple of options between football and hockey, and I decided I want to go to school, and St. Scholastica is the top choice,” said Lubinski.
“The facilities are really nice, especially for a Division 3 school. The interest from the coaches was top-tier. They really wanted me.”

The on-field success in terms of wins and losses hasn’t been there in the past two seasons, but Lubinski said he enjoys football. “Wins and losses weren’t our strongest point, but personally and a couple of other players, we grew exponentially,” said Lubinski. “I really enjoy competing, and I love the game.”

Lubinski, who played quarterback for Crookston, said the plan for him is to play slot receiver and maybe a little bit of running back. “It will be a good change. I will like it,” said Lubinski with a smile.
