Three freshmen members of the Crookston High School concert choir participated in the 2026 Minnesota High School League Region 8 Vocal Contest in East Grand Forks on Wednesday. All three received a Superior ranking for their judged performance.
Vocalists are judged in 8 categories – Tone, Quality, Intonation, Rhythm, Balance, Technique, Musicianship, Diction, Poise/Posture/Mannerisms. Each was worth 5 points.
Brady Samuelson had a score of 38 for singing “Remember When It Rained” by Josh Groban.
Anna Heldstab received a 37 for her song “ Lord of the Dance”.
Lily Olmstead received a 37 for her song “ The Cherry Tree”.
“Congratulations to you all!! Your hard work, dedication, and all the time you used to prepare were noticed in your performance,” said CHS Choir Instructor Adrianne Winger. I am looking forward to what you will do in the years to come.”
