On Sunday, February 15, at approximately 5:44 p.m., emergency crews from the Crookston Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire located at 325 James Avenue.
Upon arrival, firefighters observed heavy smoke emanating from the home’s lower level. Crews initiated a transitional attack and brought the fire under control within approximately 10 minutes.
A total of 24 personnel responded to the incident. There were no injuries reported. All individuals in the home reached safety and were checked by medical staff.
The structure sustained heavy damage on both floors. Fire crews remained on scene for approximately three hours, conducting overhaul operations and ensuring there were no remaining hot spots.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Crookston Fire Department with assistance from the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office. At this time, the cause has not been determined. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
