10 UMC Basketball players receive NSIC All-Academic honors

The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced earlier today that 874 student-athletes have earned NSIC All-Academic honors for the 2025-26 winter athletic season.

552 student-athletes were named to the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence, while 322 earned NSIC All-Academic Team honors.

To be eligible for the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.6 or higher, while NSIC All-Academic Team members must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

Additionally, the student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at her/his institution (true freshmen, red-shirt freshmen and ineligible athletic transfers are not eligible) and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution. 

A total of 10 Minnesota Crookston student-athletes are on the prestigious list.

Cuinn Berger (Sr., Esko), Caiden Swenby (So., Fertile) and Brayden Carlson (So., Woodbury) each made the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence for men’s basketball. Hunter Lorenson (So., Lake City) and Landon Dimler (So., Mankato) made the NSIC All-Academic Team.

On the women’s side, the Golden Eagles also had five student-athletes on the list. Brynlea Mahlen (So., Fosston), Natalie Mikrot (Sr., Willow River), Rayna Klejeski (Jr., Barnum) and Halle Winjum (So., Crookston) each made the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence. Riley Jenkins (Sr., G, Galesburg, Illinois) made the NSIC All-Academic Team.
