Highland Elementary 5th and 6th-grade students competed in the regional Math Masters of Minnesota Challenge in Bemidji. Students competing were Asher Wieland, Nathan Pahlen, Hamsini Chanda, Eva Gosse, Keziah Mason, Abby Lane, Peyton Demarais, Jayde Uttermark, Sylvia Christensen, and Mackenzie Ness. The Crookston 12U B team finished second place at the West Region tournament this weekend in Monticello and advanced to the state tournament. Crookston beat Brainerd/Little Falls in the first round 6-2. Crookston beat North Wright County Red 6-5 in the second round. In the third round (winner is champion), Alexandria beat Crookston 5-1.
