The Crookston Parks & Rec Fun Finder is now available for spring and summer activities the City of Crookston has to offer.
Crookston Park and Rec Director Scott Butt said they will have a lot of baseball and softball. “Very similar to years past. In the T-ball department, we got boppers, big boppers, and then we’ve also got a third session that’s all parent led. So we’ll actually have three sections of T-ball, which is actually new this year. Obviously, you know, we still have skills and drills in the morning. We have our travel league baseball, which is in the North Border League. We have girls softball, which is also in that youth border league, which will have an 8U team, a 10U team, a 12U team, and hopefully a 14U team,” said Butt. “We’ll have tennis again, which has always been a really popular one. I mean, especially if you’re looking to work your footwork. So we’ll have tennis. We have golf out at the golf course. And golf is all on Mondays. Club Kid, that’ll be Monday through Thursday, 1:00 to 5:00.”
There will be activities for adults too. “We have our men’s softball league, and we have our women’s sand volleyball league that goes on,” said Butt. “Obviously the pool will be open, and we hopefully have a busy summer planned for people.”
Registration for youth baseball and softball has to be done by April 30. “This year for baseball and softball, there is a deadline for when you can sign up for baseball and softball because we have to know how many kids that we’re going to have for scheduling purposes. And that deadline is the end of April,” said Butt. “We’ve got to get with the other towns and schedule the games and know what teams we’re going to have. We really encourage everybody to sign up. And sign up earlier the better, even with all the programs to sign up earlier so we know how many people to hire.”
