On Friday, April 17, the Crookston High School held a sendoff for the state-bound FFA members, Zac Plante for State Speech, and Ella Lerum for State Art.
CROOKSTON FFA AT STATE
The Minnesota State FFA Convention started on Sunday, April 19 and runs through Tuesday, April 21. FFA State qualified teams and individuals are competing in 10 Career Development Events: Ag Education, Ag Mechanics, Best Informed Greenhand, Companion Animals, Dairy Evaluation, Floriculture, Forestry, Milk Quality and Products, Poultry Evaluation, Soils.
-Crookston FFA has Top-3 Finalists in 4 Proficiency Award areas and 1 Agriscience Fair Division
-Crookston FFA is a Superior Chapter Award recipient for its Program of Activities
-Crookston FFA has 2 MN State FFA Degree recipients, 1 State FFA Talent Competition qualifier, 1 State FFA Choir member and 1 State FFA Band member
STATE SPEECH-
Zac Plante, a senior at Crookston High School, is making a return trip to the Minnesota State High School League State Speech competition on Saturday, April 25 at Park Center High School.
STATE ART FESTIVAL-
Ella Lerum received the highest honor “Spotlight on the Arts” award at the Section 8A Art Festival for her ceramic piece ‘Vacant Moments.’ Ella’s Spotlight on the Arts Honor will be awarded on May 9 as she qualified for the State Art Festival.
