Crookston’s Zac Plante finishes 7th at State Speech

Crookston High School senior Zac Plante finished in seventh place at the Minnesota State High School League State Speech tournament on Saturday, April 25, at Park Center High School in Brooklyn Park.
Zac competed in Creative Expression with his original piece “A Basic, Cliche Horror Movie.”
There were 24 people competing in Creative Expression, and Zac did well in the prelims, finishing in the top eight to advance to the finals.
In the finals, Zac performed well again, finishing in seventh place with 31 points. “He had a great season and we are proud of not only Zac, but the whole speech team for all the hard work they put in this year,’ said Coach Brandon Lee.
The champion was Dani LaVine Gunning of Hawley.
