The Crookston Pirate Clay Target Team took 2nd place out of 7 teams on Saturday at the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Rebels Invitational held at the Glyndon Rod and Gun Club. Crookston had the only two perfect scores and the top female shooter to lead the way.
There were only two perfect scores of 25 shot during the entire tournament, and they were shot by Crookston’s Garrett Wilkens and Eilijah Hoppe. Jayde Uttermark was the top Female shooter with a score of 89 out of 100. That score also made her the top overall shooter for the entire tournament.
“The targets were dancing in the wind, making it a little more difficult, but all the students did really well. This tournament was scored using the top five scores of each team to get the best combined score out of 500 total targets,” said Coach Randy Prudhomme. “This style of scoring really makes the team support each other and for them all to do their best because it could have been any one of them. It was great to just have them all watching and cheering each other on as the day progressed.”
