The Crookston Pirate Girls Golf team’s Ava Martin made a hole-in-one on the par 3 124-yard 15th hole, and the Pirates finished second place out of five teams at the Pre-subsection meet at Oakcrest Golf Course in Roseau. Crookston finished second place with a 362, 30 strokes behind Roseau. Crookston was led by Halle Nicholas with an 85, good for a fifth-place finish. The medalist was Mary Byfuglien of Roseau with a 77.
CROOKSTON –
Halle Nicholas, a senior, shot an 85 to finish in 5th place. Halle recorded seven pars, eight bogies, and three double bogies.
Ava Martin, a senior, shot an 87 to finish in 7th place. She recorded one hole-in-one for an eagle, five pars, eight bogies, two double bogies, and two triple bogies.
Emelia Hoerner, a senior, shot a 90 to finish in 9th place. She carded five pars, eight bogies, four double bogies, and one triple bogey.
Makenna Peterson, a freshman, shot a 100 to finish 20th. She recorded one par, seven bogies, eight double bogies, and one triple bogey.
Elsie Mathews, an eighth grader, shot a 102 to finish in 21st place. She had one par, eight bogies, six double bogies, two triple bogies, and one five over par.
Crookston will head back to Roseau for the 8A North sub-section golf tournament on Tuesday, May 26.
