The Crookston Pirate Girls Golf team finished second place with a 346, two strokes behind the Roseau Rams in the Section 8AA North Subsection tournament at Oakcrest Golf Course in Roseau. Crookston’s Ava Martin shot a career best 77 and was the medalist by five strokes over Natalie Martin of Park Rapids with an 82.
Roseau, Crookston, and East Grand Forks advance to the Section 8A Golf tournament at Bemidji Town and Country Golf Course on June 1 and 2.
CROOKSTON –
Ava Martin, a senior, shot a 77 to finish 1st. She carded one birdie, 10 pars, and seven bogies.
Halle Nicholas, a senior, shot an 89 to finish tied for 9th place. She recorded one birdie, five pars, seven bogies, four double bogies, and one quadruple bogey.
Emelia Hoerner, a senior, shot an 89 and tied for 9th place. She had seven pars, six bogies, three double bogies, and two triple bogies.
Makenna Peterson, a freshman, shot a 91 to finish 11th place. She carded four pars, 10 bogies, two double bogies, and two triple bogies.
Elsie Mathews, an eighth grader, shot a 102 to finish 21st place. She recorded one par, eight bogies, six double bogies, two triple bogies, and one five-over-par hole.
