Pint Size Polkas will perform at the Crookston Public Library on July 27

Get ready for high-energy, accordion-filled fun with the Pint Size Polkas tour presented by the Lake Agassiz Regional Library. Providing an interactive musical journey for the whole family, Pint Size Polkas will kick off the tour with a stop at the Crookston Public Library on Monday, July 27, at 2:00 p.m.

Led by award-winning accordion player Mike Schneider, Polka enthusiasts of all ages will enjoy clapping and singing along to the music in this interactive program, which will also include magic, comedy, and history as attendees travel back in time to visit heroes and legends of the past, such as Amelia Earhart, Casey Jones, and Paul Bunyan. 

The tour is geared toward children ages 5-11, but all ages are welcome to join the fun. Admission is free thanks to funding from the Minnesota Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.

Additional stops on the tour include the Climax Public Library on Monday, July 27, at 6:00 p.m., the McIntosh Public Library on Tuesday, July 28, at 10:30 a.m., the Fosston Public Library on Tuesday, July 28, at 2:00 p.m., and the Fertile Public Library on Tuesday, July 28, at 6:00 p.m.

The tour is part of LARL’s Summer Reading Program, which is offered to youth and teens at libraries in communities across Becker, Clay, Clearwater, Mahnomen, Norman, Polk, and Wilkin counties. Through July 31, participants can read to win prizes and attend educational and entertaining programs at their local library or a library LINK Site. Those interested in participating are encouraged to stop by their local library or LINK Site to pick up a reading log now through July 31.
