PAUL BITTNER ASSIGNED TO CLEVELAND AFTER RECORDING AN ASSIST WITH COLUMBUS

Paul Bittner was recalled by the Columbus Blue Jackets to play in their preseason game against the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday night and he recorded an assist on the first Blue Jacket goal in a 4-3 overtime loss. Paul had two shots on goal, three hits and he had two blocks.  He was on the ice for 14:11 of the game.

Thursday morning, Paul and nine other players were assigned back to the Cleveland Monsters. It has been a roller-coaster week for Paul, even though he knew he would be assigned back to Cleveland to start the season.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned 10 players to the Cleveland Monsters, Columbus’ American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. The training camp roster now stands at 28 players, including 16 forwards, nine defensemen and three goaltenders.
The Blue Jackets assigned forwards Paul Bittner, Zac Dalpe, Nathan Gerbe, Markus Hannikainen, Nikita Korostelev, Kole Sherwood and Kevin Stenlund to the Monsters. Columbus also assigned defensemen Gabriel Carlsson and Anton Karlsson and goaltender Veini Vehvilainen to the AHL team.
