Drafts Sports Bar and Grill and the Irishman’s Shanty took home awards following the United Way of Crookston’s 25th annual Soup and Chili Cook-Off in the Crookston High School commons on Thursday.
Drafts Sports Bar and Grill’s birria chili was named the people’s and judges’ choice for chili; Drafts Sports Bar and Grill’s jalapeño pepper soup was named the judges’ choice winner for soup; and the Irishman’s Shanty’s creamy turkey noodle soup won people’s choice for soup. The chili winner was decided by five votes, and the soup winner was decided by one vote!
The entrants included creamy turkey noodle soup from Irishman’s Shanty, Santa Fe chili from the Polk County DAC, C & S chili from Care and Share of Crookston, creamy hamburger wild rice soup from Scobey’s Pub and Grub, jalapeno pepper soup and birria chiuli from Drafts Sports Bar and Grill, chicken wild rice soup from Wonderful Life Foods, The Flavor is Federal chili from American Federal Bank, and ghostly spud chowder soup from Benedictine Living Community. The United Way of Crookston sincerely thanks these organizations for their participation in this year’s soup and chili cook-off.
