GRAND FORKS POLICE RESPOND TO THREE VEHICLE ACCIDENT, NO INJURIES REPORTED

On Monday, October 14 at approximately 8:16 p.m., officers from the Grand Forks Police Department were called to the 2800 block of Demers Ave. for a motor vehicle crash involving three cars.  Initial investigation revealed that a silver 2015 Chrysler 200 driven by 21-year-old Tayler Scott of Grand Forks was traveling westbound on Demers and attempted to turn south onto South Columbia Rd. at the on-ramp.  During the turn, Scott’s vehicle collided with a dark green 1998 Toyota Tacoma driven by 19-year-old James Soileau of Grand Forks that was traveling eastbound.  This caused the Toyota to crash into a dark blue 2005 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 20-year-old Jasmin Stevens of Grand Forks.  Stevens’s vehicle was stopped at the stop sign waiting to merge onto Demers Ave.  No injuries were reported during this incident.  Scott was cited for failure to yield.  Eastbound traffic flow on Demers Ave. was closed for approximately one hour while first responders attended to the crash.

The Grand Forks Police Department would like to take this time to remind all drivers to operate their vehicles in a safe manner and be cognizant of the traffic flow.  The Grand Forks Fire Department and Altru Ambulance Service also assisted on this incident.  If anybody has any further information regarding this incident they are encouraged to contact the Grand Forks Police Department at 701-787-8000.
