Addie Fee and Kaylie Clauson finish 6th place at State Doubles Tourney

Two Crookston Pirate seniors, Addie Fee and Kaylie Clauson, compete in the Minnesota State Individual Tennis tournament today at Reed Sweatt Family Tennis Center in Minneapolis.

THURSDAY RESULTS-
The Pirate duo earned the #4 seed in the tournament and played Macy Sohre and Kelsey Jaeger of Maple River. The Maple River duo won a good battle in the first set by a 6-4 score. They continued to play well and beat Fee and Clauson 6-1 in the second set.
Fee and Clauson will advance to the consolation bracket and beat Tali Bellefy and Meg Santini (Holy Family)
6-3, 6-4.

FRIDAY RESULTS –
Clauson and Fee played #1 seed Camila Pardo and Nora Ibrani (Blake School) in the consolation semi-finals. The Pirate duo won the first set in impressive fashion with a 6-2 victory. Blake bounced back to win the second set 6-3 to force a third set. Since it is a consolation match, they played a third set tie-break with the first to 10, and leading by two points would win the match. Clauson and Fee came out strong and cruised to a 10-1 victory to advance to the Consolation Championship where they will get a rematch with Wadena-Deer Creek’s Anna Fiemeyer and Kaylee Endres, who beat them in the Section 8A Doubles semi-finals.

In the Consolation Championship, Fiemeyer and Endres came out strong and won the first set 6-1. The Wolverine duo continued their impressive play as they won the second set 6-2 and Fee and Clauson finished sixth place at state.

Other Section 8A Individual results –

SINGLES –
Braylee Wienen (TRF) beat Brooke Lindeman (Montevideo) 6-4, 7-6 (7-4). In the quarter-finals, Wienen lost to #1 seed Chloe Alley of Minnehaha Academy 6-1, 6-1 and was eliminated.
Ronnie Noska (Staples-Motley) lost to #3 seed Casey Cronin (Holy Family) 6-0, 6-4. In the consolation quarter-finals, Noska beat Lydia Sweep (Morris) 6-0, 6-1. Noska beat Tabitha Barkosky (Maple River) 6-4, 6-0 in the consolation semi-finals. Noska lost to Brooke Boland (Pine City) 6-1, 6-1 in the consolation championship to finish sixth place.

DOUBLES –
#2 seed Anna Fiemeyer/Kaylee Endres (Wadena-Deer Creek) lost to Vivian Lahti/Kate Unverzagt (Pine City) 7-5, 6-3. In the consolation quarter-finals, Fiemeryer and Endres beat Alicia Haack and Vivian Brockberg (Pipestone) 7-6 (9-7), 6-1. Fiemeyer and Endres beat Lydia Sparby and Kayla Streich (Belle Plaine) 6-4, 7-6 (7-1) in the consolation semi-finals. They beat Kaylie Clauson and Addie Fee (Crookston) 6-1, 6-2 to win the consolation championship.
