Adeline Marie Maygra – OBIT

Adeline Marie Maygra, 93, of Crookston, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, surrounded by her children.

Adeline was born on June 24, 1930, in Crookston, to her loving parents, Arthur and Louise (Demarais) Solie.  Growing up, she attended rural Crookston school and was baptized and confirmed at Hafslo Church in rural Crookston.  On June 15, 1949, Adeline married her late husband at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Gentilly, MN.  The two worked side by side for most of their lives farming, from their union, the two had four children:  Darrell, Delores “Dee”, Karen, and Elroy.

Adeline found immense joy in many things, but she lived for gardening, her flowers, and looked forward to planting tomatoes in the Spring.  Adeline also had a tremendous love for her farm animals, as well as being a faithful servant of God.  She loved to attend Mass on Sunday and watch Mass on TV daily.  Adeline had a love for hummingbirds and enjoyed spending her time watching the birds flutter outside her window.  Adeline was also a proud member of the Ladies of St. Annes, and the Golden Link in Crookston.  She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many more.

Adeline is survived by her children:  Delores “Dee” (Steve) Jenson of Walker, MN, and Karen (Dennis) Martin of Crookston, Elroy Maygra (Marcia) of Crookston; 11 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; Brother, Merle (Janet) Solie of Mentor, MN, sister-in-law, Luella Solie of Fertile, MN, several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Maygra; Son, Darrell Maygra; Parents, Arthur and Louise Solie; Brother Jerry Solie; Sisters, Eleanor Isaacson and Elaine Morvig; Brother-in-law’s:  Maurice Maygra, John Leon, Carl Isaacson, and Leroy Morvig

The Mass of Christian Burial honoring Adeline’s life will be on Monday, October 23, 2023, at 3:00 PM at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Gentilly, MN.  There will be a one-hour visitation prior to the service.  Burial will take place immediately after Mass.  Please join the family for a luncheon at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception in Crookston following the burial.  Please visit www.stenshoelhouske.com for more information.
