Ag Country Farm Credit’s Working Here Fund donates $5,000 to the Crookston High School greenhouse project

Crookston School District received a $5,000 grant to fund a new greenhouse. The grant is provided through AgCountry Farm Credit’s Working Here Fund.

The Working Here Fund grant will provide funds to help build a 44’ x 24’ deep winter greenhouse that will provide a working classroom for students. The funds will help to provide lighting materials and insulation to ensure the greenhouse is sustainable during the winter months. Students will have the opportunity to grow a variety of plants and produce in the greenhouse.

“The greenhouse will support many students in the years to come and provides the opportunity to learn a life-long skill,” said Travis Oliver, industrial technology, and agriculture education instructor.

The greenhouse is being built by a class of students during the 2025-2026 school year and is expected to be complete for the 2026-2027 school year.

Crookston School District is one of 25 organizations to receive a Working Here Fund grant in the fourth quarter of 2025. AgCountry Farm Credit awarded $218,100 during the latest grant cycle ending December 31, 2025.

“We understand that by educating tomorrow’s farmers today, we are supporting the future of Crookston,” said Carmen Knutson, regional vice president of customer experience in AgCountry Farm Credit’s Crookston office.
