Andrew Greg Schmiedt – OBIT

Andrew Greg Schmiedt, age 45, of Crookston, Minnesota, sadly passed away unexpectedly on February 11, 2025. He was born on March 16, 1979, in Albert Lea, Minnesota.

Andrew grew up in Little Falls, Minnesota, and graduated from Little Falls High School in 1997. After graduation, he bravely joined the Navy and was honorably discharged after two years in service at age 20. In 1999, he moved to Crookston, Minnesota and worked at REM in his 20s, and would later work at LM Wind Power.

He had a passion for collecting baseball cards and antiques, enjoyed drinking beers with his buddies and taking long walks, appreciating nature around him. Andrew loved his family and friends dearly, he would light up a room, and had an infectious laugh that would resonate throughout his home. Spending time with those he loved was his most favorite pastime, especially with his grandson, Silas.

Andrew will be greatly missed. He is survived by his children, McKenzie Schmiedt and Ivan Schmiedt Ledesma; step-daughters, Monique, Morgen, and Masyn; grandson, Silas; parents, Dean and Carleen Schmiedt; siblings, Roxanne (Sam) Zapata, Rena (Jake) Bouchard, Kelly Schmiedt, Jena Larson, Brady Larson, and Dakota Ruud; and special friend Regina Zapata. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Elvira Torres; and aunt, Leticia Torres.

May the memories had with Andrew Greg Schmiedt be a comfort to all who knew him.
