Anne Marie Schulz passed away peacefully on Sunday March 15, 2026 at the Benedictine Living Center in Crookston, Minnesota.
Anne was born on December 26, 1966 in Calumet Park, Illinois to James and Lois (Beaudreau) Downs.
Anne attended Akeley High School through her Junior year and graduated from Detroit Lakes, MN High School with the class of 1985. While in high school Anne was on the girls track teams competing in the long jump and the hurdles where she obtained a MN State record in the 100 meter hurdles. Anne’s other hobbies included golfing, softball, bowling, paddle boarding, and darts. Anne was very competitive and loved challenges.
After high school, Anne moved to Crookston, MN and was employed at Hardee’s where she enjoyed working for many years. Anne was proud to be part of the management team that achieved local, regional and national awards. Anne was awarded the Management of the Year award on two different occasions and was called upon to assist with training at new store locations throughout the company. She left Crookston and moved out to Colorado, Florida, and then back to Crookston.
Anne is survived by her siblings; John & Lynn (Krass) Downs, Pearl River, LA; Thomas & Bernadette (Roy) Downs, Lakewood, CO; James Downs, Wheatridge, CO; Richard Downs, Wheat Ridge, CO; Daniel & Gretchen (Gabbert) Downs, Southlake, TX; Donald & Donna (Downs) Rasmussen, Carolina Shores, NC; Nieces Megan (Downs) Harris, Shelly Downs, Morgan (Rasmussen) Johnson; Nephews Cody Downs, Bryan Rasmussen, Corey Rasmussen and James Tate Downs; Great Niece Zoriah Harris, Great Nephews Jacoby Harris and Jaycen Harris.
Anne is also survived by her close and dear friends, Nell and James Deboer, Crookston, MN, Bill Thorp,, Crookston, MN and Dawn Jacobsen.
Anne is preceded in death by: Her parents James & Lois (Beaudreau) Downs, sister Lois Downs, brother Michael Downs; Grand parents Arthur & Cecelia (Ihli-Schafer) Beaudreau and Thomas & Hannah (Golberg) Downs.
Anne was diagnosed with Parkinson’s several years ago and fought a tough battle with the disease while staying positive. She joined a Parkinson’s Support group in Colorado where she did kick boxing to help with balance and came to know some good friends also struggling with this disease.
Per Anne’s request there will be no formal services.
