Anthony Edward Kuznik – OBIT

Anthony Edward Kuznik, age 85, of Hibbing passed away February 2, 2025, at the Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina.  Tony was born September 23, 1939, in Ely, MN, to Anton and Katherine Kuznik.  He attended Ely Community College, Bemidji State University, The University of Minnesota, and attained his PHD at the University of Iowa.
Tony began his career in education, teaching music in ADA, MN.  After obtaining his doctorate, he worked at American College Testing and was then employed in administration in various positions.  Tony worked for the University of Minnesota-Crookston as Vice Chancellor.  He subsequently served at the college campus in Crookston and culminated his career as Provost and then President of the Hibbing Community College.

Tony treasured his time in many volunteer activities.  He was a member of the Gideons and was blessed to pe a part of overseas mission efforts.  He served in multiple capacities that included the school board, teaching Sunday School, ROTARY, housing and development, the Access North Board, and tutoring.

Tony had a diversity of interests including music events, theatre, travel, photography, fishing and hunting, and sports.  He loved cheering on the University of Minnesota and the University of Iowa in wrestling, football, basketball and volleyball.

Tony will be greatly missed by his wife of 35 years: Robin; children: Anthony (Carrie) Kuznik of Orono, MN, Paul (Brenda) Kuznik of Breckenridge, CO, Tanjya (Randy) Tibbetts of Cross Plains, WI, Kelly (George) Reindl of Duluth, MN, and Anna Kuznik of Tacoma, WA.  Tony’s children were most precious to him.  He loved being a father, and was dedicated to his children – spending countless hours in gymnasiums and recital halls.

Tony is also survived by his grandchildren: Anthony, Anson, Aaron, Camille Kuznik, Leasha (Tyler) West, Kayla Reindl, and Jack and Julia Tibbetts.  Tony recently met his new great-granddaughter, Aria West.  His grandson, Conor Reindl will greet Grandpa Tony in Heaven.

Tony is survived by siblings: John Kuznik, Cheryll (Bill) Kuznik Nelson, and Katherine (Brian) Dahlin; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Tony’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M on June 27, 2025, at the Chisholm Baptist Church in Chisholm, Mn.  A gathering time for family and friends will begin at 10:00 A.M prior to the service.
