ANYTIME ANYWHERE BREASTFEEDING INITIATIVE ACTIVE ACROSS POLK COUNTY

The Polk County Breastfeeding Coalition continues to work on the Anytime, Anywhere Initiative, which aims to raise awareness and acceptance of breastfeeding in any location. Over 50 Polk County businesses have already signed the pledge, including:

  • The City of Crookston
  • Crookston Public Library
  • Alluma
  • The Blue Moose Bar and Grill
  • Bully Brew Coffee – EGF
  • Mill Street Café
  • Fair Meadow Nursing Home & Assisted Living
  • Fertile Community Center
  • The City of McIntosh
  • Poplar Meadows Senior Living

The Minnesota Anytime, Anywhere Breastfeeding law states: “A person may breastfeed in any location, public or private, where the parent and child are otherwise authorized to be, irrespective of whether the nipple of the parent’s breast is uncovered during or incidental to the breastfeeding.” (MN 145.905 LOCATION FOR BREASTFEEDING).

Additionally, in the summer of 2023, Minnesota updated its pregnancy and breastfeeding at work laws, requiring employers to provide a designated space for employees to express milk. For more details, visit the Minnesota Department of Health website. For more information, contact Tammy at (218) 281-3385.
