APG DEVELOPMENT’S STEINBRINK SHOWS CHEDA DID RECEIVE DISPUTED VOICEMAILS BACK IN MAY 2019

During Monday nights Crookston Ways & Means Committee (City Council, Mayor, and Department heads) meeting there was some contention between APG Development’s Elliot Steinbrink and Crookston Housing and Economic Development Authority (CHEDA) Executive Director Craig Hoiseth. One area of contention was whether Hoiseth had received any calls from Steinbrook.

Hoiseth contested Steinbrink’s claims saying that then-City Administrator Shannon Stassen gave Steinbrook the wrong number and Hoiseth never received those messages. While Steinbrink provided proof Stassen gave him the wrong number, he also provided documentation that Hoiseth had received at least one call from APG Development.

Steinbrink wrote an email to KROX that reads –

“As noted during the Ways and means committee meeting, I did in fact get the wrong phone number from Shannon Stassen and without fully remembering, I can only assume I used google to get the correct phone number as I do every time I am looking for a phone number.  Please note Craig’s response that – Elliot left a message for me earlier and is on my callback list – shows that I was in fact calling the correct number. The email chain (Attached) additionally shows that even after the email introduction on the 10th of May, I sent an additional email on the 14th of May after still no response.  I do not have documentation of the phone call received from Craig between the 14th of May and the 16th of May when I confirmed our meeting for the 16th.”

The communication Steinbrink referenced with Hoiseth during Monday’s meeting and in his email to KROX are below –
