Ardell Bernelda (Beckman) Allrich – Obit

Ardell Bernelda (Beckman) Allrich, 82, passed away peacefully at Wealshire of Bloomington on August 11, 2021, with her children by her side.

Ardell was born in Twin Valley, MN September 28, 1938, to Edwin and Lorna (Runck) Beckman.  She was Baptized and Confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and graduated from Mahnomen High School in 1956.

In 1957 she made the move to Anoka, MN where she worked for Osborne-McMillan Grain Elevator.  In 1962 she moved to Bloomington, MN where she raised her family and became a Licensed In-Home Day Care Provider.  She provided love and care to many children (and their families) for over 40 years, earning recognition as “Provider of the Year” in 2008 and “The Longest Running Licensed In-Home Day Care Provider in Hennepin County”, and others. She always had a passion for sewing and was an amazing seamstress.  Through the years she also gifted her work to Bundles of Love, Binky Patrol, and others.  Some of her other loves were traveling, camping, crafting, quilting, playing the piano/organ and, of course, cooking and baking.  Anyone that came to visit her always knew she would have a hot cup of coffee and one of her yummy baked goods waiting for them.

Proceeded in death by Edwin Beckman (Father), Lorna Beckman (Mother), Marlys Olson (Sister), Lloyd Olson (Brother-in-law), Keith Van Horne (Brother-in-law).

Survived by her sons, Mylan Allrich (Sheila), Marlow Allrich (Sara), daughter Michelle Townsend (Mark).  Her grandchildren, Ryan, Ben, Jack, Amanda, Nick, Noah, Matthew (Maddie) and Maxwell.  Her great-grandchildren Charlee and Greyson.  Her siblings Mary Ann Urvig (AL), Bobbi Van Horne, Richard Beckman (Sharon), and Renee Ahmann (Ron).

The family is grateful for the care and support from the staff at Wealshire of Bloomington and Brighton Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Redemption Lutheran Church, Bloomington, MN.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Visitation will also be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at Anderson Family Funeral Home, Mahnomen, MN. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at Riverside Cemetery, Mahnomen.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, Wealshire’s Life Enrichment Program or the charity of your choice.
