ARREST/FIRE REPORT-AUGUST 21

The Northwest Regional Correction Center reported the arrest of the following-

Cody Lee Wolff, 31, of Blaine, for failure to appear in court.

Kyle Martin Heintz, 32, of Manvel, North Dakota, for being a fugitive of justice from another state.

Ryan Oliver Aune, 32, of Fertile, for third-degree reducing value, from damaging property.

The Crookston Fire Department (CFD) responded to the following calls over the weekend –

8/18/2023

At 10:50 a.m., the CFD responded to the 500 block of Fairfax Ave for a report of a chlorine leak. Upon arrival, the CFD investigated and found a tank leaking. The CFD removed the tank from the building. There was no danger present. The CFD turned over control to staff and cleared the scene.

At 3:29 p.m., the CFD responded to the Red Lake River to assist the Polk County Sherriff’s Office with retrieving an airboat that had stalled out on the water. The CFD was able to get the boat back to the shore. The CFD then cleared the scene.

8/19/2023

At 9:51 a.m., the CFD responded to the 1800 block of University Ave for a report of a grain truck on fire. Upon arrival, the CFD was able to extinguish the fire. The CFD then turned over control to the towing company and cleared the scene.

At 12:06 p.m., the CFD responded to the 100 block of Sargent St. for a report of a fire alarm activation. Upon arrival, it was found that cooking had activated the alarm. There was no danger present. The CFD ventilated the apartment, reset the alarm, and cleared the scene.

At 3:28 p.m., the CFD responded to the 1300 block of University Ave for a report of multiple propane tanks purging propane. It was determined that the tanks were overheating, and the tanks were designed to purge propane under extreme heat. There was no danger present. The CFD then cleared the scene.
