The Northwest Regional Correction Center reported the arrest of the following-
Derek Jon Brekken, 34, of Crookston, for domestic abuse and violating a no-contact order.
Mark Anthony Young Jr., 32, of Detroit Lakes, for terroristic threats and reckless disregard of risk.
The Crookston Fire Department (CFD) responded to the following call on 8/25/2023 –
At 6:20 a.m., the CFD responded to the 1200 block of Sunflower St. for a report of an alarm activation. Upon arrival, it was found that staff was cleaning and sprayed the detector’s sensor, which caused the activation. There was no danger present. The CFD reset the alarm and cleared the scene.
