ARREST/FIRE REPORT – FEBRUARY 20, 2024

The Northwest Regional Corrections Center in Crookston has reported the arrest of the following – 

Justene Liana Morlan, 28 of Crookston, for driving after drivers license cancellation.

Thomas William-Freeman Noga, 50 of Hope, Minnesota, for DUI.

The Crookston Fire Department (CFD) responded to the following calls on 2/19/2024 –

At 2:00 p.m., the CFD responded to the 1200 block of US Hwy 75 S for a report of a vehicle on fire. Upon arrival, it was found that the staff on the scene was able to prevent the fire from spreading, and the CFD was able to extinguish the fire. The vehicle was not a total loss. Once the area was deemed safe, the CFD turned control over to staff and cleared the scene.

At 6:00 p.m., the CFD responded to the 1200 block of Birch St. for a report of a gas smell in a hallway. Upon arrival, the CFD investigated with gas monitoring tools and it was found that a water heater was emitting Carbon Monoxide. The CFD turned off the unit and contacted Great Plains Natural Gas. Once the area was deemed safe, the CFD turned over control to staff and cleared the scene.

At 6:45 p.m., the CFD responded to the 800 block of Fisher Ave for a report of an elevator alarm activation. Upon arrival, the CFD investigated and there was no one stuck in the elevator. It was deemed to be a false alarm. The CFD reset the alarm, turned over control to staff, and cleared the scene.

At 7:10 p.m., the CFD responded to the 800 block of Fisher Ave for a report of an elevator alarm activation. Upon arrival, the CFD investigated and there was no one stuck in the elevator. It was deemed to be a false alarm. The CFD reset the alarm, turned over control to staff, and cleared the scene.
