The Northwest Regional Corrections Center announced the arrests of the following individuals:
Christopher Ruben Moncada, 48 of Fargo, ND, for felony first degree possession of 100 kilos or more of marijuana. Released to another authority.
Charles Murphy Gibbons, 40 of Grand Forks, ND, for felony domestic assault by strangulation.
Fire Calls –
At 12:18 Tuesday afternoon, the Crookston Fire Department was called to the 600 block of Birch Street for a report of smoke in the house. It turned out to be steam form a pressure relief valve on the water heater. The unit was shut down and left for the homeowner to get repaired.
At 12:30 p.m., they were called to the 100 block of South Central Avenue for a gas odor, the sewer traps were found to be dry.
At 10:26 p.m. they responded to a flow alarm at UMC. The sprinkler was activated, the cause is unknown, but weather is suspected to have contributed. They shut off the system and left it for maintenance to fix.
