The Northwest Regional Corrections Center in Crookston reported the following arrests –
Jay John Amiot, 55 of Crookston, for third-degree assault, substantial bodily harm.
Randy Jay Finley, 61 of St. Paul, was arrested for first degree aggravated robbery.
Lynessa Jill Yankton, 34 of Grand Forks, for third degree drug possession of methamphetamine/amphetamine in a school/park/public housing zone.
Wade Robert Anderson, 45 of McIntosh, for third degree DUI.
Alberto Jean Delacruz, 23 of Nacogdoches Texas, for theft of a motor vehicle without owner consent.
The Crookston Fire Department (CFD) responded to the following calls over the weekend –
7/2/2021
At 8:00 p.m., the CFD responded to a call at the 1100 block of Barrette St. for an apartment fire. Upon arrival the CFD extinguished the fire, and ventilated the apartment. Upon investigation, it was determined that the cause was food cooking on the stove. Once the scene was deemed safe, CFD cleared the scene.
7/3/2021
At 8:56 a.m., the CFD responded to a call at the 1800 block of Raddison Road for a Carbon Monoxide detector activation. Upon investigation, it was found that the end of life signal was activating and there was no danger present. The old detector was replaced by the owner, and the CFD cleared the scene.
At 4:03 p.m., the CFD responded to a call at the 700 block of Holly Ave for a tree on fire. Upon arrival, it was found high winds caused tree branches and brush had fallen on a power line, which caused the small fire. Ottertail Power Company was on scene and assisted the CFD clearing tree branches and brush. Once the fire was extinguished and the area deemed safe, CFD cleared the scene.
At 10:06 p.m., the CFD responded to a call at Wildwood park for smoke from park’s shelter bathroom. Upon investigation, there was no fire present, but there was a smell of fireworks in area. With no danger present, CFD turned control over to the Crookston Police Department and cleared the scene.
