ARREST/FIRE REPORT- June 27

The Northwest Regional Correction Center Reported the arrest of the following-

Gerald Lee Anderson, 47, of Grafton, North Dakota, for third-degree drug possession in a school/park/public housing zone.

Jacob Jay Neil Richard, 36, of Crookston, for driving after cancellation-inimical to public safety.

The Crookston Fire Department (CFD) responded to the following calls on 6/26/2023 –

At 8:20 a.m., the CFD responded to a call in Gentilly Township for a report of black smoke coming from a residence. Upon arrival, it was found that a resident was having an unpermitted burn. The CFD spoke with the owners and informed them that they had to get a burn permit. There was no danger present. The CFD then cleared the scene.

At 6:26 p.m., the CFD responded to a ditch along MN Hwy 102 for a report of a small ditch fire. Upon arrival, the CFD was able to contain and extinguish the fire. When the area was deemed safe, the CFD cleared the scene.
