ARREST/FIRE REPORT- MAY 23, 2022

The Northwest Regional Corrections Center in Crookston made the following arrests.

Octavio Rodriguez, 41, of Crookston, for Refusing to be sworn as a Witness or Answer Interrogatory

Arleasher Gardner Brewer, 39, of Grand Forks, for Driver Violation- Uninsured Vehicle

The Crookston Fire Department (CFD) responded to the following calls over the weekend – 

5/21/2022

At 7:30 a.m., the CFD responded to the 100 block of Sargent St. for an alarm activation. Upon arrival, it was found that burnt cooking caused the alarm to activate. The CFD reset the alarm and cleared the scene.

At 9:33 a.m., the CFD responded to the 100 block of N Nelson St. to investigate a potential electrical issue. The CFD spoke with the homeowners on the scene and used a thermal camera to investigate. It was deemed to be safe. The CFD performed a smoke detector survey and cleared the scene.

At 7:50 p.m., the CFD responded to the 700 block of 7th Ave S to investigate the smell of gas. After using gas monitoring tools, there was no gas found, and the scene was deemed safe. The CFD then cleared the scene. 

5/22/2022

At 11:30 a.m., the CFD responded to the 300 block of S Broadway for an anhydrous tank that had a small leak. Upon arrival, the CFD investigated and found a valve was leaking. The CFD stopped the leak and when the scene was deemed safe, cleared the scene. 

At 10:00 p.m., the CFD responded to Andover Township for a report of a gas smell in a home. The CFD investigated and it was found that it was dried plumbing traps. The CFD also performed a detector survey. After the scene was deemed safe, the CFD cleared the scene.
