ARREST/FIRE REPORT- MAY 3, 2024

The Northwest Regional Correction Center reported the arrest of the following-

Alexander Espinoza Ortega, 29, of Mahnomen, for second-degree aggravated robbery.

The Crookston Fire Department (CFD) responded to the following calls on 5/2/2024 –

At 9:30 a.m., the CFD responded to the 1500 block of Raddison Rd for a report of a detector beeping. Upon arrival, the detector was found to be at the end of its life. There was no danger present. The CFD replaced the detector and then cleared the scene.

At 11:01 p.m., the CFD responded to the 100 block of Hurlbut St for a report of an electrical pole on fire. Upon arrival, it was found that the pole was on fire and had snapped, being held up by the electrical wires. The CFD contacted Ottertail Power Company, and once they had clearance to spray water on the pole, they were able to extinguish the fire. Once the fire was extinguished, the CFD turned over control to Ottertail Power Company and then cleared the scene.
