ARREST/FIRE REPORT, MAY 9, 2024

The Northwest Regional Correction Center reported the arrest of the following-

Jonathon Michael Stone, 34, of East Grand Forks, for second-degree DUI and refused to submit a chemical test.

The Crookston Fire Department (CFD) responded to the following calls on 5/8/2024 and 5/9/2024 –

5/8/2024

At 6:28 p.m., the CFD responded to the 100 block of Sargent St. for a report of a fire alarm activation. Upon arrival, no smoke was present. The area was deemed safe, and the CFD reset the panel. The cause of the alarm activation is still under investigation.

At 7:37 p.m., the CFD responded to the 1200 block of Memorial Dr. for a report of a fire on a stove. Upon arrival, it was found that the fire had put itself out. The CFD ventilated the residence, ensured the fire was out and the scene was safe, talked to the resident and then cleared the scene.

5/9/2024

At 5:57 a.m., the CFD responded to the 100 block of Sargent St. for a report of an alarm activation. Upon arrival, it was found that unattended cooking had caused the alarm to activate. There was no danger present. The CFD ventilated the residence, reset the alarm, and then cleared the scene.
