Arrest/Fire Report – Monday, January 20, 2020

The Northwest Regional Corrections Center announced the arrests of the following individuals:

Naomi Faith Nordlum, 26 of Crookston, for misdemeanor contempt of court for willful disobedience of a court mandate. Released on personal recognizance.

Mark Larry Shaver, 37 of Mentor, for felony 1st-degree burglary with possession of a dangerous weapon or explosive.

Anthony Joseph Volpe, 44 of Crookston, for felony 3rd-degrees drug possession in a school, park, or public housing zone.

Isaac Jacob Swiftbird, 28 of ND/MN, for a misdemeanor for giving a peace officer a false name, birthday, or ID card.

Fire Calls:

At 9:00 Friday night, the Crookston Fire Department responded to North Acres Estates to investigate a sewer smell. The gas detector didn’t register any dangerous levels and nothing of concern was found.

At 2:24 Saturday afternoon, they responded to a general fire alarm at 1901 Pirate Drive. They were canceled enroute, it was believed to be a system malfunction, cause unknown.

At 11:25 Sunday morning, they investigated a reported electrical issue in an apartment on the 1300 block of Hoven Lane. Nothing was found and the scene was deemed safe.
