The Crookston Fire Department responded to the following calls over the weekend:

At 1:35 p.m., the CFD responded to a call at Crookston Township Section 9, for a haybale fire that was threatening structures. Upon arrival, it was found that the hay bales were burning and had spread to the surrounding grasses. CFD extinguished the fire and upon investigation, it was found that manure burning fire had spread due to windy conditions.
At 6:18 p.m., the CFD responded to the 600 block of Stuart Ave for citizen concern of a recreational fire due to high wind conditions. CFD talked to the caller and the homeowner who had the fire, and a spark arrester was put on fire. CFD then cleared the scene.
At 7:17 p.m., the CFD responded to the 100 block of Sargent St. for an alarm activation. Upon investigation, it was found burnt food had activated the alarm. CFD assisted with ventilation, reset the alarm, and cleared the scene.
At 10:56 p.m., the CFD responded to the 1500 block of N Broadway to gain access to apartments and to assist with a lift assist. CFD then cleared the scene.
