Arrest/Fire Report – Monday, October 12, 2020

The Northwest Regional Corrections Center announced the arrests of the following individuals:

Benjamin Ryan Leonard, 26 of East Grand Forks, for a gross misdemeanor for interfering with 911 calls, emergency telephone calls, or communication.

Piper Ann Welsh, 27, homeless, for misdemeanor fleeing a peace officer by means other than a vehicle.

Mark Joseph Williams, 48 of Crookston, for felony check forgery with intent to defraud. Released on personal recognizance.

 

The Crookston Fire Department responded to the following calls:

10/9/2020
At 1:46 pm they responded to the Sampson Addition for a report of smoke. Initial investigation found nothing coming from that addition. It was then found the smoke was from a burn permit on the outskirts of town.

10/10/2020
At 12:38 pm, they responded to the 800 block of Stuart Avenue for smoke in an apartment. It was smoke from a cooker. The firefighters ventilated the apartment and did a carbon monoxide survey. Once deemed safe, they cleared the scene. 

At 8:17 pm, they responded to the 500 block of Elm Street for possible carbon monoxide. Upon investigation, they found carbon monoxide and the source was from a gas pressure washer being used in the house. They ventilated the house and cleared the scene.

10/11/2020
At 12:10 pm, they responded to the 400 block of North Main for a possible carbon monoxide leak. Upon investigation, a leaking valve was found on a tank outside of the building. The valve was fixed and they cleared the scene.

At 6:09 pm, they responded to a call of a four wheeler in the river behind the dam. Upon investigation, it was determined that it was an electric child toy four-wheeler. There was no one at the scene and no emergency present.
