The Crookston Fire Department (CFD) responded to the following calls over the weekend –

At 11:00 a.m., the CFD responded to the 3000 block of US Hwy 75 S for a report of smoke coming from a dryer. Upon arrival, the CFD emptied out a portion of the bin to find some smoldering product in the bin. There were not any flames present. There was no danger present. Upon arrival of the staff, the CFD turned over control of the scene to continue to monitor the situation. The CFD then cleared the scene.
At 9:00 p.m., the CFD responded to the 2900 block of University Ave for a report of a fire alarm activation. Upon arrival, it was found that cooking had caused the alarm to activate. There was no danger present. The CFD ventilated the residence, reset the alarm, and cleared the scene.
