This week’s Athlete of the Week is Crookston Pirate junior Soccer player Caden Boike. Caden has been a leader for the Pirates all season long and leads the team with 10 goals while adding 1 assist.

This past weekend Boike netted a hat trick to lead the Pirates to a 4-0 win over Mesabi East on Senior Day. He finished the week with 5 goals in just four matches. He has also scored multiple goals in two matches this year with the other one being another 3-goal performance against Melrose earlier in the season.

Boike also plays basketball in the winter, runs for the track & field team in the spring, and participates in band and the Leo Club at the high school. On top of all of that, Caden is also on the A Honor roll and has a 4.0 GPA. He had this to say when asked about his hopes for the rest of his high school soccer career. “I love the seniors on this team, and it is going to be hard to see them go once the season does come to an end,” said Caden. “With that being said we still have a lot of guys who are skilled that will be coming back, and I think if we would hard and dedicate ourselves, we can be just as successful if not more next season.”
