ARREST/FIRE REPORT – May 10, 2021

The Northwest Regional Corrections Center reported the arrest of the following – Jason Allen Gourneau, 37 of East Grand Forks, for third-degree drug possession of 10 grams or more of a narcotic. Mohamed Ali Faral, 37 of Grand Forks, for public nuisance, annoy/injure/endanger safety.

NORTH COLUMBIA ROAD IN GRAND FORKS WILL BE REDUCED TO ONE LAY STARTING MAY 10

North Columbia Road will be down to one lane in each direction from the overpass to just past University Avenue for a complete road reconstruction.  The lane closure will begin on Monday, May 10. Traffic will remain open on North Columbia Road but will be reduced to one lane in each direction as crews work

FIRE NEAR ANGUS CAUSES $30,000 IN DAMAGE

On Sunday, May 9 Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a structure fire at 13407 US HWY 75 North in Angus. On arrival, the deputy learned a burning hay bale started a nearby quonset on fire. The quonset and property inside were a total loss of approximately $30,000. The property owner was identified as Arlen

FIRE REPORTED AT KYLE’S REPAIR IN MCINTOSH

On Saturday May 8 at 7:08 p.m. the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Mcintosh Fire Department, Fosston Fire Department Erskine Fire Department and Essentia Ambulance responded to a reported chimney fire at Kyle’s Repair in McIntosh. The fire was contained and extinguished in the ceiling. The amount of damage is unknown at this time.

UMC BASEBALL TO PLAY AT MINOT STATE IN FIRST ROUND OF NSIC TOURNEY
