POLK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE WARNS OF IRS SCAMMERS CALLING COUNTY RESIDENTS

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has received numerous reports of an IRS scam. The caller states they are from the IRS and tells the recipient that they owe money for taxes and if they don’t pay, a warrant will be issued for their arrest. The phone numbers are showing up as a 218 area code.

The Northwest Regional Corrections Center announced the arrests of the following individuals: William Richard Ostenberg, 48 of Crookston, for 1st-degree felony sale of 10 grams or more of drugs within a 90-day period. Released on personal recognizance. Gary Herbert Sundquist, 60 of Crookston, for a misdemeanor traffic violation for driving after suspension of driver’s license.
