UPDATES MADE TO VARIANCE ON EAST SHORE PROJECT, PLAN WILL GO TO MNDOT FOR APPROVAL

The Polk County Commissioners earlier this year approved a resolution for a variance to the State Aid Highway Rules of Operation for a variance on the dimensions for back-in diagonal parking along the East Shore of Maple Lake.  The commissioners updated the variance on Tuesday to reflect requests for wording the Minnesota Department of Transportation

WARROAD POLICE OFFICER CHARGED FOLLOWING BUREAU OF CRIMINAL APPREHENSION INVESTIGATION

An officer with the Warroad Police Department has been arrested and charged following an investigation by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA). Joshua Mathew Demmerly, 29, of Warroad, was charged this morning with kidnapping, third-degree criminal sexual conduct, and stalking. BCA agents arrested Demmerly on Tuesday. He made his first court appearance this morning
